Florida in November?

Hi all,

Sorry, I know these kind of theads are a bit common on here, but I would genuinely like some feedback on this. I'm thinking of making my annual trip to Orlando in Nov this year. Does anyone know of any public/school holidays in this period that I might want to avoid. Also, does anyone have any info on rides that will be closed for SCHEDULED maintenance during this month, particularly in MK, IOA, SW and BGT

Once again, apologies if this is of no interest to most people, but I would genuinely appreciate some advice here.

Best wishes,

B

Just don't go Thanksgiving weekend. Otherwise, pick some days, any days. I've gone to Orlando now in November the last three years and had a blast every year. The worst crowd I had seen was at Magic Kingdom where I waited (gasp!) 15 minutes for Big Thunder Mountain.

The best times to visit Orlando are the months in the Fall.

My preference: The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Attendance is light and the Christmas decorations are up.

Before Thanksgiving is good too, but avoid the Veteran's Day weekend if you can. As long as you are visiting the parks on a weekday, non-holiday in the Fall you should be in pretty good shape.

Oh, and starting the week before Thanksgiving at IOA, you can experience Grinchmas!

Jeff- Many thanks, sounds like a very good pointer to me. I completely forgot about thanksgiving- typical Englishman! :-)

Any Orlando park employes lurking out there who might tell me which of my favourite rides are likely to be down for scheduled maintenance? The ones I'd be really gutted at missing are: Any coasters in IOA or BGT (particularly Hulk and Montu-I love those) Would also be dissapointed if Kraken or JTA were out of action; I'm also very keen on those.

Whatever info you have would be very welcome.

Best,
B

You should e-mail BGT and ask them their maintenance schedule. They're very good with answering e-mail. I doubt they'd know what will be closed in Novebmer this far in advance though.

when you go to BGT, you'll be able to ride cheetah chase too!
Closer to the time of your trip, you can check these sites for WDW refurbishment schedules:

I've been there during Thanksgiving before, and the crowds really weren't that bad. Cosmic Ray's (a food place in MK) serves a very good turkey meal.
