Flight of Fears possibly being moved from PKD & PKI

I was told that bids were being taken on the removal of PKD's Flight of Fear. Actually, I know one of the bidders which is how I found this out. They are looking at moving it to PCW and possibly sending PKI's FoF to Carowinds. He said they were looking at having these attractions ready sometime for the 2006 season although I don't see how this could be. This has been in the planning stages since August so I suppose prep work could have been underway. We'll have to wait and see on this one....
I mean no offense to you personally but this is the biggest crock I've read yet.

The ride as constructed is one of the most difficult and complex coasters to be built in a non year round park. It'be cheaper to start from scratch.

People said the same thing about Stealth too.....
I thought they were being rethemed to something dealing with MTV?
Stealth was an outdoor, fairly simple layout, prototype, not a heavily themed indoor twister
Seriously... this is bullcrap. If Carowinds wants a Flight of Fear, they'll build a new one, or one with a different theme.

It's not going anywhere. It's PKI's most popular coaster. Period.

I would think that with others here it would be easier to build from scratch. These are immense attractions unless they unloaded the track somehow. Which i doubt seeing happen, considering they probably enclosed them after the ride was built. So go the easier way to get a FOF!

Maybe they'll put the Racer's last drop back too. ;)

Actually, At leastin PKI's case. The foundations and building were built first. There is a crane built into the building that was used to raise all the supports and track.

The excavation and foundation took almost 6 months to build. They started in june of 96 and it didn't open till july of 97.

Now I could see them building another and using the extra trains from PKI and PKD. There were originally four per ride but it's never run more than three and now only two.

I too agree, i highly doubt this will ever happen and to top it off i doubt pcw will see a coaster until 201- for their 30th anniversary. Look, next year pcw is getting MI:SS and then for 07 probably boomerang bay, after that possible some more kids attractions, alot of general repair and probably another new thrill ride. Plus pcw has a limited amount of free space left, there is alot, but when you really think about it there isn't. FOF is popular and doing just fine at PKI.. now teel me why would they do something that stupid? I doubt it will happen but then again look at stealth.

I'll wait for the press release. And Magnum is still sinking.
