Flashback Relocation @ SFMM

Does anyone know when they are going to begin the relocation of Flashback to its new location within SFMM? If they are going to do this hopefully it will be done by CoasterCon but doubtfully unless they begin it soon. I don't want to miss this coaster mainly because it's unique and without I won't be able to reach 100 coasters by the end of this season.

I am not positive, but I'd be willing to bet heavy that it WILL be open for the Con.....the reason it's down so much (or so I understand) is because the noise disrupts the lifeguards in the waterpark area nearby. Convention times are late after closing or before opening, and that's when I plan to get my first ride on Z-Force, er, Flashback..... But remember, this is the Big One for ACE, and in the planning for AWHILE, over two years now. What with the Guinness record and all, I'm sure they'll want to show off the park in it's best possible light....(now if only we could ride Revolution as Anton intended - the Griswolds got to....)....

Oh, and the answer to your question....they really SHOULD move the coaster, it's pretty portable, they want to keep the record they share with CP, and it could easily be relocated to several locations in the park.... maybe this winter...

Thanks, I can relax now instead of scrambling to look for a park to go to in order to ride my 100th coaster.

Yeah they should put lapbars on it especially for us. But that'd be a lot of work. But then again I'd help them assemble everything.

Dude187 - Revolution already has lap bars...what they need to do is remove the OSTRs.

2002 - the year of IB's LoCoSuMo!!

So true Mamoosh, so true. The restraints on Revolution are the most redundant I have ever come across in 15 years of riding rollercoasters. And from what I understand, there is no chance of this ever changing. So sad...
I don't really have a problem with Revolution HAVING OTSR's. The problem is that the OTSR's that they installed SUCK! The ride is pretty uncomfortable to ride and awkward to get into. Something more along the type on Viper or Deja Vu would be good. And please, if there are OTSR's, then lose the lapbar!

My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

Doesn't this Flashback relocation rumor pop up every year? Flashie stinks (don't forget I'm a SFMM local) and I HIGHLY doubt that SFMM will ever put an extra 2 cents into that ride. Maybe it needs to be moved, but that won't make it a better ride.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

Too bad your 100th coaster has to be Flashback. I'm curious, has anyone ridden it more than once? It was the second most painful ride of my life, second only to Flight of Fear at PKI with OTSR's.
I think Flash could get by with just lapbars. Then it would be kind of fun, maybe.

Just say no to Gerstlauer! (and OTSR's)

My 100th coaster isn't gonna be Flashback. As a matter of fact, it's not gonna be at SFMM at all. I was just wondering cause if Flashback was closed I'd be at 99 when I went to my last park of the year(Great Adv.) but if it's open I'll be at 100.

I had a totally unrealistic idea for Revolution. From what everyone says it has both lapbars and OTSRs so why not just lock the OTSRs in the up position and allow people to ride it with just lapbars. It would be a cool temporary fix for Coaster Con. I know its probably impossible but its just a crazy thought.

I like! Sounds good... maybe I'd enjoy a ride on Rev. once in my life...unfortunately, not gonna happen!

I really wish that they'd move Flashback! If they moved it to Cyclone Bay (BTW, why don't they call it Psyclone Bay? Sheesh...) and turn Cyclone Bay into like a mind-themed area (Psyclone, Deja Vu, Flashback! :)) (I got this from others' suggestions, so I'm sorry if its your idea...)

Also, they can't take the shoulder bars off of Flashback. The OTSR's were put on because in drops 3&5 the car comes so close to the supports that they had to put OTSR's on so that people would not *wack* the support if they were holding their hands up.

Retrofitting with better OTSR's and a little un-Six Flags-like TLC could do wonders for Flashback (and Revolution...and Viper... and Colossus... and Psyclone... and Ninja...)

If they’re running, I’ll get ‘em. If they’re not, they should be.
