Flashback at SFMM isnt really all that bad.

All you have to do is follow directions.  There is a sign at the beginning of the lift that says keep your head back.

YA DID!!!
That's right, but then most people don't follow these directions, just like on Viper and Revolution. I think it's not that rough, except for 2 transitions.

Yes, your'e exactly right gatorwodie2. Last time I went on both Viper and Revolution, I followed the directions and had great rides. PLEASE READ DIRECTIONS FOR GOOD RIDE ;)

I wouldn't wait to long for it, there are 2 really bad spots though and thats the only ride I have came off saying it was rough.  I really did like the ride though and will DEFETNLY do it agian!
-----------------
I didn't find it rough just awkward.
I follow the directions and find Flahback immensely rough and not fun. I LOVE Viper. No comparison. Flashback sucks!

Does anybody know if Flashback has been that rough since it opened?
I've been on Flashback at SFMM twice and have gotten day-ending head bashings each time, with my head pressed back against the seat.  I always wanted to try it a few more times, but the last three visits it has been closed.  I am not too sure if Flashback is a transferred ride from Six Flags Over Georgia.  I rode a ride there exactly like it, named G-Force (same name as the old SFMM looping spaceship) and the experience was much more fun and less destructive.  Anybody know if this is the same ride?
I don't ride Flashback anymore. It's not the roughness that bothers me, but the restraint system, talk about overkill. Not for the claustrophobic that's for sure.

Pretty sure it's the same ride, as it's the only one that's ever been built.  The only time I was able to make it to SFMM, Flashback was closed.  Too bad because I like to ride unique coasters.
I dont think is bad, I just think it's terribly infamous.

Wasn't it Z-Force?

Z-FORCE!!!!  AHHHH!!!  GIVE US BACK OUR RIDE!!  Stupid ride loan system.  We would do anything to get rid of Ninja.

Sorry to say but AHHHHHH! Its actually our ride here in the Chicago area. It debuted as Z-Force at SFGAm. While I dont really miss this coaster that much, it would still be nice to have around for a few spins.

Yeah, we went during Halloweekends (or whatever they call it at SFMM, and it was closed for some haunted house thing...BOO!  No really....boooooo!  Hopefully, it'll be open for CoasterCon next year- (I'm assuming it will be).

It was named Z-Force at SFOG, and that ride was the only "space diver" ever built.  I think Anton Schwarzkopf had a lot to do with its design.  I never rode it when it was here, but as I understand, it was that rough when we got it in 88.
I find it's much easier to avoid a thrashing my head out in front of the OTSRs, as far from the head rest as possible. Maybe this only works because I'm tall. I enjoy a nice, painless ride, and ride this thing whenever it's open!
I suspect that much of the roughness lies in the trains. Although the track does look rather dirty and a good paintjob, and maybe some new beams here and there and some welding wouldn't hurt. But if that ride were to get the trains revamped, with new wheels, and nice B&M fitted seats, I'm sure there'd be no complaints.

The ride doesn't belong in the Californian heat, it should be back up north where it used to be, and get ride of those noisy wheels and maybe it will get better.

To be honest, all this ride needs to run much smoother for a season or two is a new set of wheels, I can't imagine how old they are, or the last time they were replaced, my bet is on they haven't been checked since it was at SFMM...

sorry, MisterX.  Schwarzkopf had nothing to do with it.  Z-Force was designed for SFGA by B&M when they were with Intamin.  the ride loan systme saw it move down to SFOG and finally to SFMM as Flashback.  I find that sticking my head out as far as I can on rough coasters limits the head bashing that I receive.  another thing to try is going with the train.  if its about to turn left then lean a little to the left.  I hope to ride this some day, it looks like a fun ride.

I never rode that coaster and i really want to rough or not becuase it is just one of a kind in my eyes , but them putting Over the shoulder harnest on it seems like an over kill! why did they anyway? it has no inversions and it is all sharp turns isent it commen sence that it will cause head banging? maybe that is why it has been closed? maybe they got it tested with one of those ride dummies and it gave a report that it was to rough so they closed it? eather way i hope i can get to ride it one day becuase it looks intresting.
