First time at Holiday World

Me and the fam has the distinct pleasure of visiting HW last Thursday. I was very impressed with this place. It definitely lives up to its reputation.

The coaster lineup is great from top to bottom. The park is as clean as they say it is. I was joking with my wife every time (twice in the whole day) I found a piece of litter that "This is supposed to be the world's cleanest park? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?" The flat ride collection has some charming items including the Revolution which I hardly ever get a chance to ride and the best tilt a whirl I've ever rode.

We only spent a short time in the water park because of the short day but Mammoth was fantastic despite barely being able to open my eyes from the water sprayers. From the little walking through the area I can tell it's one of the better water parks out there. I look forward to spending more time there next trip.

The food and free drinks were also a highlight. In fact the only problem we had was that we were unlucky enough to have three breakdowns throughout the day. The Voyage had an unnamed problem that delayed is, The Legend kept getting stuck on the lift hill (once with the wife and kid on board) and closed up for hours, and finally one of the rafts valleyed on Mammoth and caused three groups to be evacuated.

I was wondering if this is common at Holiday World or just coincidence. The staff was very much on top of things especially at the water coaster. Really hustled to get the boats out and back running.

Overall I really loved the park. 9/10, would coaster here again.

The best of all the jokers is clearly Mark Hamill.

I'm glad you and your family had a great time! I always suggest Holiday World to everyone. Especially to those with families and are buget-minded. Do spend more time there on your next trip, as the waterpark is awesome! I suggest you join the family in one of the coaster clubs and attend the HoliWood Nights event next year.

The raft-valleying issue on Mammoth is a common thing. But the employees are always quick to respond. I had not heard about any issues on Legend lately. But did hear about Voyage being temperamental.

I always love visiting the park and am sad that I have not been there in 2 years!
