First Time!

Well, I broke down and tried DDR for my first time last night. I tried the 5th mix (I think) on one step. I did very poorly and didn't have too much fun. I tried it again then moved to DDR Extreme. I tried that against a friend on Beginner mode and actually had fun. I got a 50 combo or whatever.

I can say that it is a fun game. I'd get it for my Playstation since it's a good workout. I didn't think I'd like it since I'm not too into dancing, but I enjoyed myself. A friend took two pictures of my on my first try. I look like such a dork. I might upload those later.

I might have to go back to my school's game room and try it again! Nooooo!

Thats cool, I showed my friend it(who is girl) who never played it or heard of it and she first tried it with a controller then she tried it with dance pad, i guess she did not feel like it the first time. Anyway, I play ddr and it is very orginal and is good. I don't know why but i just want to say that I think ddr is werid. As in you look like a riverdancer doing it (but i don't care) my friend does not care either and now she wants to get a ps2 and the game and of couse the pad.

Edit: taken out the word "gay"

I want to say that using the word 'gay' to insult things, is, well, gay.

(Y'know, you have to speak the language of youth for them to understand you, right?)

Go to your public library. Look for this great book by a man named Webster. Read it. You'll learn some much, much better ways of describing things, and you might do so without insulting entire groups of people at the same time.

Haux -- I'm glad you had the courage to get up on a machine the first time you played. I am too self-conscious to do that and was exposed to DDR by playing at someone's house. Then, I'd only play when people weren't looking. Now, I kinda whore myself to spectators because I like empty praise. :)

UPDATE: I keep going back! Why? WHY?! What do I enjoy out of this torture? I'm not too crazy about DDR, I suck at it, I've never gotten an 'A' on it, even in basic, yet I KEEP GOING BACK!

I must get it for Playstation so I don't keep spending money on it. Gosh, it's going to add up so quickly.

I remember my first time. I didn't even know the songs varied in difficulty, so I just picked one that sounded good, and I could only watch as the arrows flew by. But I still wanted more. So the next weekend, I went to an abandoned Putt-Putt and played for 4 straight hours by myself. My legs had never been so sore.

Yet here it is, 9 months since then, and I still get excited when I know I'm going to play after work. I can hardly bear waiting at traffic lights between here and the arcade, and I dread the thought of a crowded machine or a broken pad.... :)

This is worse than addiction... :)

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

Showed my good friends who just moved into my apartment for the summer the game last night. They (along with my girlfriend) laughed their butts off at me at first. But once I did like Rhythm and Police in standard and Candy in standard, they were all itchin to try it. They were terrible of course and afraid to look dumb, but hey, that's how everyone starts out right?

I'm just starting to have enough confidence to do something like play at Cedar Point. I'm going to Hershey this weekend, I might look for a machine there. I've played MAX2 three times, but the last time I played at the mall, some 14-year-old absolutely destroyed me. I wasn't going to back down from him and he put on some Heavy song and I practically fell off the pad, so I haven't been back to machines since. Maybe this weekend ...
