First ride on CP number 16

Someone from work said that Cedar Point was holding a contest to be the first rider on their new coaster. I think it's hogwash. Why would they do this when they haven't even annouced it yet? Has anyone else heard this?

There will most likely be an auction for the first train or two of riders to benefit the Firelands chapter of the American Red Cross. That's what they've done with MF and WT.

Has anyone heard anything about when they are going to announce thier new roller coaster? They have not waited this long to announce anything in a long time. I'm Dying over here!!

And yes, there is generally an auction for the first ride on a new coaster with proceeds going to the Firelands Red Cross.

People "in the know" have said the announcement would be in September, October, November, December, and now January. Sooner or later I am sure someone will get it right.

(I am putting my money on October 1st, 2003.)

Actually there WILL be a contest to ride the new ride, and its not for the Firelands, its for Coastermania............details coming soon.

I am sure it will be January! I am dying to know what name they chose. We already know what it is and how high it is.....all we need to know is the name and how powerful and insane that freakin launch will be! HELLO!!!
