OSU's The Lantern has a fun editorial that seems to align pretty well with popular opinion about this project.

I found another thread on Avatar, but this is the one I was linked to in the news section.

I get the reasons for the negative vibes on this one.

However, the other thread I found mentioned Avatar being the new Water World.

Universal was able to take a dismal movie and theme a surprisingly good show off the movies' concept.

I would expect Disney to be able to follow suit ... but then I must say that it is my opinion that Universal has lately been doing a good job of out-disneying Disney.

I think everyone here is right about Avatar having a short lived following. And, maybe the next Avatar movie will revive that following. But, I don't know if that really matters if Disney can add it's own magic to the story.

Since my crystal ball has dead batteries, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Waterworld was awesome.
