First Intamin launched spillwater?

Intamin track has been spotted at Gardaland. Construction on their new 2003 water ride is moving on to the next stage. As of yet, the ride is officially still a spillwater. The Intamin track and blueprints suggest it might became the world's first launched shuttle spillwater! Take a look at the picture below to see the not-so-spillwater track for yourself..

The two Intamin spillwaters currenly running [Knotts, Oakwood] have *very* wide boats that run on a *very* wide track. Unless Intamin has completely redesigned this model I suspect that track is for something else.

But then again I could be wrong....

According to the park, this will become a "mini-spillwater", featuring vehicles comparable with Valhalla (Blackpool Pleasure Beach).

The track is actually laying at the construction site of the spillwater, and footers have already been installed.

The first Launched Spillwater (i.e Wave Runner) is actually going to Lotte World In Korea. Not sure if its an 03 or 04 but i suspect it will open later in the year.

The track at Gardaland is interesting. does vallhalla have track like that? i dident notice any while i was riding.

Valhalla has normal spillwater track. So no boxtrack, just waterchannels.

This ride (Escape from Atlantis) will open in 2003, so it could be the first launched spillwater, am I right?

I don't think this will be launched as Roomie said the first launched would come to Lotte world. It's kind of strange that Intamin hasn't mentioned that this would be a water coaster at all...

Launched water rides now? Man, what's next? Looping log flumes? ;)

A launched water ride does sound intriguing. Hmmmm...me thinks I'd like to see one here.
