Firehawk nearing completion. (Track that is)

Pass by the park every day. It's amazing how much of them supports and track are gone from the parking lot. The ride is visible from the south parking lot entrance. It stands about the same height as FOF's building and looks pretty impressive.

Whats even more impressive to me is just how fast this thing is getting hauled back and put up.

I guess it really does go fast as opposed to hanging bents for months. Still, It's a pretty large steel coaster and after the ground work was done. Well lets just say they could barely keep up primering the track even though they had a big head start on construction.

The assembly speed on this thing is pretty amazing. I have absolutely no doubt that it will be done steel-wise by opening day.

To the people that were worried it wouldn't be finished before August: You can calm down now. ;)

Have they determined what caused the problem on Borg and how to fix it?

Without working trains. The rides a wash.

Chuck

Borg was a problem with the PLC programming. An operator accidentally pressed the unlock button during dispatch while the train was still in contact with the station contacts. Due to a problem with the programming, it did not sound any alarm or stop the ride.

It has already been corrected and I'm sure Firehawk will have that done too. It's a quick fix.

The trains themselves are being heavily refurbished in KI's Steel Coaster maintenance shop.

I think there's a topic about that incident. I still wonder which company was able to make such a serious programming mistake on a (supposedly!) SIL 3 rated system, that's a proof of extremely poor safety practice. If an accredited body did check the ride it's a shame for them too as they're responsible to very thourougly review the safety critical part of the application software.

There are at least 4 cars not yet there.
