Call me cynical...but I can see a fire being a good way to get insurance to cover taking down a building rather than having to pay out of pocket to do so. Considering the site is being sold for condos, any current buildings would be taken down to make way.

I'd be interested to learn the cause of the fire, or interested to know if the selling company is being required to remove the current buildings as part of the sale.

If they dont notify the fire department of doing such a thing first they will be charged with arson if that is the case. Then they may also be fined and could possibly negate any financial gain they were getting. Kind of a dumb idea if you ask me. I doubt it was them...probably coincidence. I still believe firmly in innocent until PROVEN guilty.

This type of thing happens all the time. If you own the property and want insurance payouts, you will do it in a way where you won't be linked to it.

Not saying it happened that way, just stating that insurance scams go on all the time.*** This post was edited by Chitown 10/18/2006 4:18:30 AM ***

This is sad, There giving the property owners only 7 days to demolish the rest of the park!
