Fire causes serious damage to flume at Movie World Australia

A fire, believed to be electrical, caused major damage to the Wild West flume ride at Warner Bros. Movie World Australia last weekend. The ride is expected to be closed for several weeks while it is repaired.

Not much news about the Australian amusement industry :). I've been on that ride before and found it to be surprisingly good (except maybe for those jets on the bottom of the drop that shoot water in your eyes)

Maybe you had it on a bad day. In the hundreds of times I've ridden, I've never had the jets shoot it into your eyes. In fact, that never really wet you - you'll get more wet from the splash of the boat.

From what happened to the ride, they'll be working pretty hard to get the ride up by Christmas. I hope that by doing so, it doesn't compromise the quality of the theming.
