Fire-breathing dragon officially opens new Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom

Neat, but because they apparently used fireworks instead of "fire water" or whatever, he kind of flew through his own streaks as it lingered. It was visually disruptive from what we expect from special effects.

In case anyone was wondering.

Was that a Chinese Fireball or a Hungarian Horntail? Whoops, sorry, wrong franchise and theme park.

This is awesome. One night only? It's way too cool not to do it all the time.

I wonder if they somehow electronically control the spotlight from the ground to always be pointing at the dragon? That light made the dragon glow, and made it even more magical.

I'm assuming the dragon becomes a showpiece somewhere, but this time, I'm going with Travis. That dragon should fly ALL the time... :~)

^Hmm maybe it should only fly at night since it apparently has a parachute attached to it.

I didn't mean "aaalllll the tiiiimme". I meant all the time, like as a showpiece, like Gator said at first. lol

Like have a few fireworks to get peole to look up, then the spotlight comes on to reveal the dragon flying around for two or three minutes, then the dragon disappears and the show segues into a lot more fireworks, then maybe Tink flies down to the castle (does she still do that?), then the fireworks finale.

I want to say it again... This dragon is magical.

And the hobbits crapped their pants...oh wait, also wrong franchise.

In all seriousness, this is the kind of thing that puts me in awe of Disney again. I am not often impressed by much of theirs anymore, but every now and then, they blow my mind. So very cool!

Did anyone else notice that was not Cinderella Castle in the video? So I guess it is one of the smaller castles inside the expansion area?
