Finger scans now required for Six Flags passholders

Six Flags St. Louis will require passholders to submit their fingerprint, or at least, a “mathematical model” of your fingerprint, to enter the park this year.

I seem to remember this being discussed before. As long as it works properly, I have no issues with it.

Normally, you scan your pass, photo comes up on monitor for employee to verify it's you, and in you go. The article here says that new system is quicker and helps prevent against fraud. I don't get how its better. I will admit I'm not the most colorful crayon in the box. But this has me scratching my head. The only thing I can see is if someone changes there looks drastically from the time the photo was taken. But does that really happen often?
