Finally got to see Son Of Beast run it's course!

Today I went to PKI to see if SOB was running. Low and behold it did! Man, it was awesome to see that thing run. I was so happy to see it run that I almost cried. It was real emotional. LOL! :)
I watched it from the drop-off area in front of the parking lot and you can literally hear it roar, but very faintly. The trains go up the lift hill pretty fast. I'm heading to PKI Friday to ride Jr. if it's still scheduled to open this Friday. Can't wait.

Sorry, guys, I didn't get to ride SOB tonight the wait was pretty long. When I got their they didn't open Jr. until 7:00pm. I will try again next week or maybe tomorrow. I still need to ride it. BTW, that lift hill is really loud. I can hear it all the way in the parking lot.

THE BEASTmaster, HOW WAS YOUR RIDE!?!
CPgenius, I'm not trying to be rude, but please read the above post. Your answer is there. I never got a chance to ride Sonny, but I'll try to ride it next Saturday.

Oh, sorry. you must have posted yours as I was writing mine.
I was there Saturday, and they only ran SOB for a couple hours, then shut it down for the day. Nobody was talking about what was wrong. They wouldn't even tell the SOB crew what the problem was. Guess I'll have to go back next weekend and try again! :)

I was there today to see if I could try to ride SOB again, and it was shut down. The workers told me that it will be open Saturday, but sadly I'll be busy that day. Darn it! :)

Yes I went there on Satuday also and it was closed. I wrote a lot more about it over in the Forum: Trip Reports
I can tell you it was due to the 2nd hill. When I managed by sheer luck to ride 11 times on Media Day, that 2nd hill provided quite a bad jolt each and every time. It basically got to the point where it banks hard right, then jolts you left, then right in rapid succession. It really needs to be smoothed out before the GP gets on for full rides on a regular basis. I agree with most people here though. If the park would at least TELL the public that it is a section of track that would be too rough at the present time to guarentee the saftey of those riding, I'd be happy that there was something being done about that and go on my merry way. When the park is cryptic about the circumstances, though, that's when I start to wonder if they're just goofing off or trying to do 'minor adjustments' that don't affect the ride in itself. It's all perception and how you decide to take it (but it's easy for me to shrug it off since I live 15-20 minutes away with season pass in tow.....). Such is life. *** This post was edited by Chris Rettig on 5/1/2000. ***
Did anyone else notice the spots where it seemed as if there were supposed to be tunnels? Did they never put those in?
