Your before-and-after images remind me of something my friends and I noticed: The tables & chairs area near GateKeeper is covered by awnings that convene at a large white post, the bottom of which is surrounded by a circular garden planter. We wondered if this is where Space Spiral used to be, and if this was an homage to that. Looking at those images, it's pretty darn close. (Which is also what Rob Decker said when we asked. He wasn't sure if it was intentional though.)

Last edited by birdhombre,

I think it's darn close if not the exact spot. And when I was there I finally realized, after all my crying and complaining, that with Gatekeeper's station, fencing, landscaping and merch loc there just wasn't room to keep old Space Spiral around. Although I did pine for a ride up the tower. Wouldn't that be a great vantage point for some Gatekeeper watching?

Like somebody said here somewhere ; maybe a plaque?

I hace a question and this seems like a good time in the conversation to ask... Are photos allowed to be taken from the Giant Wheel? I know I have taken them from the ride before, and I have seen some, but is it allowed?

Because THAT would be an awesome place to get some Gatekeeper photos!

The website says pictures are prohibited on all rides except the train. And to think I have all these bootleg pictures taken from the Sky Ride. :)

From the GateKeeper queue, you can get a straight-on view of Wicked Twister we haven't had before, which is kinda neat.
