Having had RCT2 on my shelf for nearly 2 years now, I finally got a new computer that can handle the game, so the questions that most of you had 2 years ago I am just running into.
My question is about Ferris Wheels.
The Ferris Wheel I put in my one park is not "broken down", but it just sits there and will not move. It appears to be the fact that a guest is standing at the entrance and will not enter. The only way I can get this to clear is to do a double close on the ride (clearing the queue and all on the ride) and then re-opening it. It will work for a little while and then then same thing happens again.
This only happens on the ferris wheel.
Am I doing something wrong (though I don't see what... since ferris wheels are simply dropped into place) or is there some sort of glitch with the programming on these rides.
IF it is a known problem and there is some sort of patch, I probably won't bother with it since RCT3 is just on the horizon.
Thanks.
I had this problem as well and I just quit using the ferris wheel all together in any of my parks.
It also annoyed me that the loading/unloading of the ferris wheel was jacked up. Peeps would complain that they've been standing in line for ages due to the way the ride cycles incorrectly. After each cycle (# of rotations you specify) it will only unload/load one chair then start the cycle again. So each set of peeps are on the ride 'X' number of cycles (X = the number of chairs on the ferris wheel)
Make sense? It seems complicated to explain, but I posted about this over a year ago and got responses from others seeing the same issues.
And yeah, I noticed about the rotations. I turned the rotations up to 3 (1 rotation seemed too short... ), but then I noticed that it would load one seat, rotate three times, then load the next seat, rotate three times, etc. I don't know how many seats are on the ferris wheels right off hand, but let's just say there are 12. By using the rotation of 3, each person was getting 36 rotations. By dropping it back to 1, they were down to 12. But then the stopping bug showed up so I didn't worry about rotation numbers.
I'll reverse it and see what happens.
Thanks.
