Fed regulation faces certain death

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

With all of the silly news features on network television, you'd think that visiting an amusement park was as dangerous as crossing a Washington highway. The proposed regulation from Rep. Ed Markey (D) would require that amusement park safety be regulated at the federal level. The rest of Congress doesn't seem to feel such regulation is necessary.

My favorite quote from Rep. Cliff Stearns (R): "It's a solution in search of a problem. There are more people injured while bowling."

Look out bowlers... you're next!

Read the whole story in The Orlando Sentinel.

"Look out bowlers... you're next!," Great touch Jeff!

I could imangine how many trim brakes the Feds would add to coasters. The ones the parks add are bad enough.

Well, I have come to the conclusion that Cliff Stearns is my newfound hero!!! You go Cliff!!!
P.S. Watch out for that freshly waxed bowling lane.
Cliff, he's da man! I like his quote about the bowling.

Thank god that bill failed. I'd hate to see what the Fed's would do to rollercoasters. Cliff's quote rings so true.
