For anyone interested, this year's graded-exposure lineup for the Face your Fear Project looks like this:
Session 1: Mine Ride, Gemini, Power Tower, Magnum, and Maverick...
&
Session 2: Gatekeeper, Windseeker, Millennium, and finally Top Thrill Dragster.
For those uninterested, sorry for the bump. :)
I was once scared of anything height wise and I am still scared of heights on ladders (anything over 10' I cannot do). When Voyage was announced, I flat out decided that I WAS GOING TO RIDE IT. It took me two trips, but after the second ride, I was hooked. It took me a few years later to finally get over my fear of heights and go on slides in the water park and other taller riders. I do get a little of that fear when on the taller slides at HW/SS with open areas between steps.
So we visited Dollywood last Friday, and managed to ride Thunderhead three times! That thing is wicked! And yes, I fit on it! I screamed like crazy the first time through, and had my hands up the whole time, then rode again with hands down and eyes open, so I could focus on the ride more. It is so relentlessly fast and twisty and curvy, I couldn't tell you the layout if I wanted to! I was really nervous when I first got on, but I loved it.
