Favorite Themed Area In A Park

A personal preference would be Disneyland's New Orlean's Square (or whatever its called) at dusk. One word: atmosphere.

Ghostrider = good
I also have never been to IOA, but that theming can top any other parks best themed areas. (disney or anyone) At Disneyland I do like New Orleans Square because it honestly looks like the real city. Of course the classic midway feel of CP or Kennywood is great too!

Home Park: Knotts Berry Farm!
but also Disneyland and DCA
Yankee Harbor and Orleans Place at PGA used to be great, but over the years the themeing has gotten really bad. I don't undersand why they got rid of the original themeing. Infact, I think Orleans Place is the last of the original lands at PGA. How's SFGAm's park themeing of the old lands? Does the park still theme the attractions to fit into the lands?

Yes BACoasterCentral, the theming at SFGAm has stayed the same for the most part. I hear that PGA tore out most of Marriotts original theming. That is sad but its their choice.

Southwest Territory at SFGAm. That is the best themed section of SFGAm. If they went through and took care of the theming issues in other parts of the park I think they could make the theming in other areas a lot better.

You cant forget Yukon Territory. If you look around in that area, it is pretty well themed also.

Paramount is great at destroying theming. Look at PKI. Oktoberfest really had the euro festival feel originally. Nothing left there......The africa section became the non-themed Action Zone area, and it appears they are whittling away Rivertown now. Eventually there will be no theming left at this park.

Carowinds is the same way. That park was originally themed to the history and places of the Carolinas. Pirate Island was replaced by a water park, newer rides have been installed out of them to the section they are in.

The Paramount Parks in general have disregarded the atmosphere of the parks by installing the water parks in the parks instead of outside. Canadas Wonderland originally had a frontier section planned where the water park is built, KD had a wonderful lake, and Carowinds had the nice Pirate Island section as mentioned.

These so called theme parks really dont put much effort into the planning and naming of rides. Any ride can be themed with some creativity regardless of location. They must be getting ride names from first graders coming through the gate lol.
This is a hard one between BGW and IOA. Any European themed section of BGW and any of IOA's five islands gets my vote for best themed area.
These two parks are in a league of their own in the themeing department especially IOA. When you walk through Dr. Seus Land and Lost Continent, as well as all the other islands, you really feel as though you are not in a theme park.

Any portion of Islands of Adventure, in particular Seuss Island which is worth the price of admission alone.
I also have to agree that anything at IOA is outstanding, and I thought the Medieval part was the best. That restaurant in the tree...awesome. After that, I like Liberty Square in WDW-MK, and also Disney-MGM.

The best centerpiece in a park DEFINITELY goes to the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. That thing is absolutely spectacular.

The different countries at Busch Gardens Williamsburg are fanatastic examples of park themeing, particularly Germany, Italy, and Scotland.

Here's a question: What do people prefer Epcot's different countries or Busch Gardens Williamsburg's?
Italy at BGW is beautiful and the food is great too. :)

I say any of the areas at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. You forget you are in a theme park, at least until a world class coaster springs up in front of you.

"Without contest, the Dueling Dragons mideval area at Islands of Adventure. I've never seen more spectacular theming - not even at Disney, and the superb coasters just top it off. :)"
Right on, CrystalKat! That theming blew me away as well. When I was there, they even had a wizard walking around talking to people. It was great! The other areas in IOA are also quite amazing.
I would have to go with marvel super hero island at IOA. Feels just like you stumbled into a comic book with bright primary colors, hard straight lines and the unbeatable combination of the hulk and spiderman.
Netherdowns at BGW

FEAR THE FOUR
Drachen fire what will happen to it?
There is only one problem with the queue line for Dueling Dragons at IOA... the coasters.

I was more impressed with the queue than the coasters themselves. There was just something about them that didn't quite live up to my anticipation / expectations.

Now if you would have had a queue line like that followed up by an inverted coaster like Montu, then you would have something!
Parc Asterix. All of it.

Islands Of Adventure comes to mind, but the music in Jurassic Park can get a little annoying. Everything else is outstanding right down to the little details that almost nobody (except for a coaster enthusiest) would notice.

It's Suess Landing at IOA in my book. It has the feel of the theme it portrays.
Jurassic Park at IOA and Frontier Land at Magic Kingdom.

Midway America at Hershey! I also like New France at BGW.
