Favorite rides to watch being built

This year's construction season has been pretty dull and uninteresting overall, and I was just thinking about how much fun it was to watch Twister being built.  The coverage was just so, so good and Knoebels really went all out.

MF was also fun.  Just watching that lift hill go up, and watching the ride transform from a pretty lame looking drawing into what MF is today was just great.  CP always gets it right when promoting a new ride, and just the whole sense of community created when watching MF go up was just great.

So, what were your favorites to watch go up?

If the shoe fits, find another one.

I kept a very sharp eye on the Steel Phantom becoming Phantom's Revenge.  I was able to see it at the end of street adjacent to it as well as looking at it from across the river with binoculars.  I was proud to see a truckload of supports making its way into the parking lot.  I wondered what they were gonna do with the tunnel.  My question was answered when I rode it the first time.
Watching Ghostrider being built back in 1998 was a joy to behold. What I though would be a fair sized coaster ended up being more expansive than I imagined, it just kept going and going all the way outside of the park, so cool. Also, to hear that this coaster was being built by the *Raven* guys, excited me to no end.

Watching X grow was quite an experience thanks to Twisted Rails. How were they going to fit such a large ride in such a small space, the arrival of those super strange track pieces, the ultimate delay, the massive cars ect. All cronicled by this website that I hadn't even heard of before. Amazing job, amazing ride it turns out :)

Have you ever considered that maybe it's not the park that's the problem, but YOU?

I think that X and Deja Vu were pretty fun to watch.  I think that Xcelerator will be next.
Really any wooden coaster is great to watch IMO.

I've really enjoyed watching B:TDK's construction considering that's probably the only new coaster that i'll get a chance to ride. It really turned out to be a beautiful compact coaster, it should be an intense ride.
I liked watching the Boss at SFSTL go up.  I saw constrction every day it was being built.  That is because it is like my backyard almost.

Don't Look Down!
Twisted Rails coverage of the X construction had me "into" it for months. Every day I would eagerly anticipate a construction update. WTG Karl! Thanks for the great construction coverage.

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!
I enjoyed watching X-Flight go up because it was so easy to drive up to the park and park across the street and view the coaster.

I liked watching B:DK simply because of the fact that I could go up there and check it out for myself.

Is there somthing more, then what I've been handed, I've been crawling in the dark looking for the answers!- Hoobastank
I really enjoyed watching them build SOB.  I work only about a mile from the park and I would stop and watch often.   I first got hint in jan 99 that somthing was up when I seen truckload after truckload of lumber being hauled out.

Now it really got fun once the season opened in '99 because you could get pretty close to the constuction site,  Go up on the Eifel Tower every week and see what they had done.   The did the first helix before the lifthill (Well sort of)  and after seing them get that helix up my first impresion was OMG.

I know several others who just got a kick out of watching it being built and would stop for no other reason.

Chuck, who was upset when a dead raccoon took my watching spot in the drop off area :)

X and Deja Vu were cool to watch.  It's even cooler after you ride them since you saw them from the very beginning with ground clearance!
