FastLane

What is fastlane? Any relation to FastPass?

What is it's cost? Do they have it at Six Flags Great America?

I saw it in 2 reviews, but I don't know anything about it. That, on top of the fact that when I went to SFGAm in June there was no such thing there.

Fast Lane, Fast Pass, all the same.

Not sure if every ride at Six Flags America has it, but the major ones (all the coasters at least) do have it.

I didn't use it, but from what I gather you walk up the exit ramp at your designated time, show your pass, and you get to walk right on and sit in the reserved seats (in the middle of the train).

What I have noticed in my vist there, they will dispatch trains with those two seats empty if no "reserved" guests are waiting, no matter how full the regular queue is... or if someone sits in those "reserved" seats who are not "reserved" guests when no "reserved" guests are waiting, they will be booted out of those seats (even if it means the dispatch time is held up and the seats go away empty)... or if someone who is not a "reserved" guest is seated near the "reserved" seats (but not in those seats) and a group of 4 "reserved" guests approach, the "non reserved" people who are already seated (and secured) will be booted so that the group of 4 "resesrved" riders can all ride together (even if two of them are seated in seats open for "non reserved" guests).

As if you couldn't tell, I personally do not like the system, or at least the way they work it at SFA (booting seated and secured guests in favor of "reserved" guests)

OOOOPS! I thought you said Six Flags America... not Six Flags Great America... sorry.

(bad enough SF can't come up with original names for their coasters... they couldn't even come up with very original names for these two parks)

FastLane is a program that Six Flags is testing at a number of its parks.  Each SF park that has FastLane is using a different type.  SFGAm's FastLane costs $10 and you get a card that has four(4) punches on it.  Each punch is one ride for one person(ex: One Card could be used for: 4 rides for one person; 2 rides for 2 people; 1 ride for 4 people).  They sella limited number of FastLane cards each day, usually between 1500 and 2000.  The FastLane Entrance is a special entrance that usually amounts to waiting in line from 1-20minutes depending on the attraction and how busy it is at the park.  You get to skip almost all of the regular queue line.  It is not good at all rides at the park, I think it is good at the following rides at SFGAm: Raging Bull; Vertical Velocity; Iron Wolf; Demon; Whizzer; Giant Drop; Loggers Run; Roaring Rapids; Dino Island 3D.  There may be a couple more, but those I know use FastLane for sure.  Batman The Ride does NOT use FastLane, people think it does but it does not because there is no feasible way right now to create a seperate entrance for FastLane and the Exit is way too narrow to use that.(Good thing they decided to go with all that themeing ;-)

I hope that helps!

Dino Island 3d NEVER has a line, and who in the hell would pay $2.50 to go on it.

Plus there is no real way to go in through the exits in that ride :)

I may use it for Raging bull to get my fix of both front and back a few times. Nice thing about that is you exit then just get back in line and do it again.

Giant drop will be nice with this. So will V^2.

I wish it was free like Disney has it, however.

Yeeee Haaawwww!

I guess Six Flags is testing a different form of the system at each park to see which one works best.  I noticed that many people hate Fast Lane out in the mid west where they seem to be charging for it.  In the mid atlantic/new england, the parks give it out free.  My home park, Great Adventure is one such example.  I have heard no complaints about this system, most likely because no one has to worry about putting in the extra money for the special priveleges.  Any person has the option to get Fast Lane.  Personally, I like the idea, it is the next best thing to Fast Pass at Disney.  However, I think I would be a little upset if they started charging for it.  Then I think it is a bad idea.  I feel for you guys out there that have to pay for your Fast Lane.  Hopefully Six Flags will find that the way they do it in the east is the better way, and put into motion that system at all the parks.
