Fast route: West Cleveland to Kings Island

Can I have some quick help with the absolute fastest route from West Cleveland (Parma Heights) to Kings Island. I tried map quest, and that takes me right into the heart of Columbus, I would think there would be something faster. Any help?

71 is the quickest way. Columbus isn't that bad of a drive.

It's been a few years since I lived in North Royalton, but I used to almost always go straight through Columbus. Even during rush hour, I found it was better to go straight through, rather than take the bypass around the city. Unless traffic has gotten really bad in the last few years, I would stay on I-71 and go straight through.

Yes, do not take the 270 bypass. I've been in Columbus rush hour many times, both to or from KI (or Holiday World) or for volleyball tournaments in town, and 71 is always a reasonably easy drive. Seriously, 71 is very nearly a straight line down to KI from Cleveland. The only faster way would be to fly. :)

Righto, I'll just stick to 71 then. I once got caught in Columbus traffic going to COSI, and it took what seemed like hours to go just a few miles. Thanks for info everyone.

You might want to take 270 the short distance from I71 to SR315. Get on 315 south and you can bypass the I71-I70 mess downtown, and 315 runs right into I71 south of the city.

While either way shouldn't be a problem, I always used 315 opposed to 71 to get through downtown. And that's when I only lived a few blocks from 71. Go with millrace's route.

Depends on the time you are driving through C-Bus. If it's really early like before 6, I wouldn't bother bypassing. After 7, I would take Millrace's route.

315 is almost always worse than 71. Not a good choice.

And from my experience, full of people who'll run you off if you don't go over the speed limit. (Not good, not something I condone). Just stick with I-71, it's worked for me most of the time.

I have the opposite experience. I guess it all depends on the timing.

I-71 is the best. Watch out for the Staties (highway patrol) around Mansfield.
