About two weeks ago on June 11, I went to the SFWOA and was disappointed by numerous ride breakdowns and lots of litter. I just went yesterday (June 28) and I was amazed at the improvement shown over just a two-week period. I was hard-pressed to find any litter, and all the coasters were working all day.
I went there with my church this time and had a wonderful time. We arrived at the park around opening time (11 am) and went to our pavilion inside the park. This area was surprisingly clean. Then over the course of 3 hours, I rode Batman 6 times, Double Loop, Serial Thriller, and Villain 4 times.
Then we had a catered lunch from Six Flags that was decent. The food was average, but it filled us up.
Then I proceeded to ride Big Dipper, which was really fun. If you are a big person, you should get your own seat. This is so you don't smash into the other person and you have more room. Then I rode in the first seat of Superman, which is always awesome. Then I rode Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall. Yes, it was actually working. It wasn't that rough. It shook you around, but it wasn't that bad.
Then I waited an hour to get on X-Flight. The line was very comfortable because I purchased a cheap portable fan at Wal Mart that morning.
PROPER PLANNING PEOPLE. X-Flight was amazing, like always.
Then I went on Batman once more and on Villain 6 more times. A CCI walk-on, that is hard to find. It is an awesome coaster too. I also went on Roadrunner's Express, It was riding better than last year, much more smooth. Then I risked my parent's grandchildren to ride Texas Twister...It actually didn't hurt at all. It was much more comfortable than a couple of years ago.
All in all, you can't beat riding a CCI 10 times, a B&M floorless 7 times, a Intamin LIM , an ACE classic, a small arrow looper, SLC, and a flying coaster all in 7 hours, plus an hour for lunch. The park was very clean...I think the biggest reason for my fun visit was
PROPER PLANNING. Also, I was expected to be disappointed again, but it turned out to be a blast. Everyone understands that this park has gotten 5 new coasters, doubled it's size, and changed ownership in the last 3 years. I think that Six Flags officials have been doing a wonderful job considering how big of an undertaking this is.
