What an AWESOME Flyer Report. You captured so much of how I feel about that ride, and how my final rides went on Saturday the 9th. Such a sad ending to a fantastic family ride loved by all. The look of the faces of little kids riding for the first time, and then their faces of joy when the ride got them addicted. I love PKI, but like I said in my Letter to the editor last week...it is like the heart being ripped out of Kings Island. I hope we won't have to go thru this with the Beast some day. But right now with paramount, it worries me.
Chris
So you were the person with the buttons? I was trying to find one of those buttons all day before someone told me they were all gone. =:^(
At least I got a sticker patch. =:^)
Chris,
I am glad you got to take a final ride. I also have called the Flying Eagles the heart of the park before. I honestly believe that. Thanks fo reading.

Hey Sean! Im reading. I registered just to reply. Im just a reader, ya know, I like to see how were doing and how we can improve. But yes, Im reading!

As a Carowinds regular, I will say I was definitely excited to hear that we would be getting the Eagles, yet it was bittersweet as I knew how much all of you in the PKI area enjoyed the scooters, and the camaraderie that went along with them. It is important to remember that his is nothing more than a new chapter in the life of a wonderful ride, not the end of the book completely.
Being one of the few Carolinians who is already 'flyer proficient' (by no means and expert, but I know my way around a bird ;) ) I look foward to spreading the flyer love and knowledge with the general public and enthusiasts alike, so that they are as loved in their new home as they were in the old.
I'm going to Carowinds the last weekend of operation to take some construction pics, and get a few year-end rides on Top Gun. I will definitely share the pics, if the birds are down there by then. Opening day should be a blast next year. And I will try to keep you all regularly updated on the status of the beloved birds. Looking foward to visits from all of you 'Flyer Fanatics' next year. ;)

Anyone interested, tell me, so I know how many to make this time ;)
There you are! I knew you read but wasn't sure if you posted or not. Thanks for responding.
Jay,
You have a good view on how you look at it. I tend to look at it a similar way althought it was so difficult to do that the first couple of days after. I know it will be thrilling people next year which is a better option than scrapping it. Yes, please share the construction photos so we can see how the ole' girl is doing.
John,
Thank you "Mr. Airtime" =:^)
I had a great time with so many people including yourself. I haven't seen many of you in a long, long time but but it was amazing to see all that lost time spliced back up where it left off. I really hope closing day will be just as cool, although it will be difficult to top the times we had last weekend.
CoasterChickn,
That is a very nice compliment. Thank you so much. You are right. Some people just don't get it. Such a shame.
Camrider88,
Was your shirt the one that has the view of the first drop looking down? If it is, then I remember you. You were there in line for most of the day if I remember correctly.
Don,
Very cool! I am sure they will be popular on closing day.

I will be there on the last day, and I would love a button. I will be the guy with the really dirty white (at least it use to be) Ohio State hate. How much for a signed one? ;)
Your Ohio State "hate"?
Geeeze. You must really dislike them because of the recent loses. BWA HA HA HA HA HA!
