Those signature items include wheels for roller coasters and water flumes. Products for the amusement industry also include water ride pulleys, flotation collars, rubber bumpers, aluminum hubs and wheels used in ride-support mechanisms.

I really admire businesses like this. They find some kind of niche that probably isn't very interesting, and manage to run a sustainable business for decades. I think that's the classic "American dream" story.

That's one of the fascinating things about going to a trade show like IAAPA. People often say to me "Oh, you're going to a show where there's nothing but rides?" And I say, "It's not only rides, it's the people that make the stairs to get on the rides, the people that make the games, the people that make the prizes, the people that make the tickets that come out of the games, the people that make the light bulbs, the people that make the rubber thing you hang onto when you're on the ride, the people that make the nachos, the people that make the boat the nachos go into,... it's everything."

It's interesting to think for a second about all that goes into the amusement industry, and all that's necessary for us to enjoy our hobby.

I can attest to that. There is a lot that is completely non-interesting that has to be done.
