I suspected this might be an issue, as the date we got was suboptimal in almost every way, but we're cancelling the Fall Affair at Holiday World this year. Conflicts with other events and such a late date is making it really hard to work up any reasonable attendance projection.
We'll hopefully get a better date for next year, and I hear Voyage could be even more special. :)

This is sad to hear. Actually bought my plane tickets a few days ago.
Looking forward to seeing the new Halloween Weekends even without the ERT.
Well that sucks.
I already booked a hotel room. I also made my girlfriend trade in her car so we had something decent to drive up there.
Oh well im still going.
I guess I'll see most of you at PPP now. :)

Or hurt... We bailed on it because there were only two registrations five weeks out. That's highly unusual.

Being part of running a club myself, I find that we get about 90% or more of our registration within the last week. But yeah, 2 is not good.

In the email that went out for the cancellation, it mentioned that part of the reason that the date wasn't optimal was that there was a music festival at the park scheduled for this date as well. I looked at the park's website, and didn't see anything listed on this date. Is this still happening, and does anyone know what it is?
I ask because I've been considering October 6 as a date for my annual trip to the park, and was curious whether it would present a crowd issue. In a more general sense, I was wondering what to expect as far as Saurday crowd levels at HW during the fall, and specifically whether it would be worth going on Sunday instead (and using a vacation day to travel back north). I searched the forums, and didn't see anything recent on point, but my apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. Thanks for any help.
Jeff was referring to our Rock the World event on 8/25 (a date he'd originally considered for the CB event).
This is the first year for Happy Halloween Weekends, so we don't have an attendance history, sorry. We hope to be busy, of course, but I can't imagine it'll be crazy.
Have fun! Paula

So, Paula...
If the Halloween seasonal event is successful, can we expect special season-stretching events for Christmas and Thanksgiving, too? :)

In a frustratingly ironic turn of events (given that Fall Affair was meant to be this weekend) - the Travel Channel will be here this weekend.
They're producing a show called "Halloween's Scariest Thrills" and will concentrate on Legend night rides this Saturday and Raven night rides on Sunday.
If you were planning to attend the Fall Affair, we sure hope you can still make it - and maybe even wear a costume. :)

Do they expect to put together the show in time for airing THIS Halloween season? It'd surprise me, but I suppose it's far from impossible.

No, it will not be airing for about a year, just in time for next Halloween!! Hopefully they use some of the footage we gave them!
