Expedition GeForce, why the gray track section?

Why is there that section of gray track on expedition geforce on the bunny hill near the end?
I believe it has been painted now, isn't that the section with the trim brake?

Nope it isn't

I have no idea why it's gray, but i'm 99% sure there isn't a trim brake there, and that it hasn't been painted.

I knew I heard it was painted and that this was discussed before, here it is.

And upon looking that's not where the trim is, but what is that walkway/platform right there?

There is a trim brake but it is before that gray section of track. As far as that section goes, I had heard that there may have been a design flaw in that section of track and a new section was brought in to replace it. That's just a rumor though and I have no way of proving its true.

... to create an aesthetically jarring color juxtaposition that reflects the conflict between the soul-chilling terror and sublime thrill of riding roller coasters.

Or what everyone else said.
