Expedition Everest Updates

Hey guys, it's time for another update on that new mountain!

The big news first: Disney will be unleashing an expidition to the REAL Everest to collect information and artifacts for use in the themeing of the Expedition Everest attraction. WOW

Second, pictures of the que line and some of the mountain have popped up. If you thought the Mummy was amazing, wait till you get a load of this! The que line will wind around benind and next to the faux village that has been set up near Everest. Just like the Kali River Rapdis Que, there wil be no switch backs at all. But unlike the Kali River Rapdis que the story will be told better. There will be a cooky Yeti museum set up, along with various plasma TVs in disguise to push the story along.

At least one train is on site and all work on the track construction has stopped. The mountain is starting to come together slowly and the giant stairs next to the helix is being disguised. No word if the Yeti is on site yet.

Here are some pictures....

I'm really looking forward to this one. For as huge of a project as this is, it hasn't got a whole lot of attention yet.

But everything I have seen so far has me very impressed!

EDIT: I'd say its a lot more like Matterhorn 2. I can't wait to see their new animatronic Yeti for this one. *** Edited 5/6/2005 6:23:09 PM UTC by CoasterFanMatt***

Laughingplace has some pics of the que, concept art, logo, and the donkey car.

I wouldn't mind waiting a long period of time for that coaster, as waiting in line would already seem worth the wait. Simply amazing.

How many cars per train will this have. This ride looks amazing!

No idea now, my guess is around 6 not including the donkey.

Here are some more pictures and information! Notice the new AK logo that has the traditional animals and Tree of Life, but not it's infront of a giant mountain....

When is it supposed to open?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It's scheduled to have its grand opening in just under a year (Spring 2006), but word has it that it will be in previews by late 2005.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.
