If you're in Animal Kingdom and you look like a perfect family for marketing Disneyworld and Expedition Everest, you might get passes for the sneak preview. Families were approached by PR staff just inside the gate, as they were getting their picture taken in front of the Tree of Life.
It's a great PR tactic -- these families all knew about the attraction and knew that it would not be open to the public during their visit. All of a sudden, they have sneak-peak passes and their excitement is captured by Disney's marketing geniuses.
Responses from several families are included today's official Disneyworld podcast.

Doesn't matter now, walls are down and the ride is now open all day, unless closed for final tweaking. Official opening April 7th.

If you haven't heard the DIsneyland Podcast, I think it's even better than the WDW podcast!
