expansion on dutch wonderland and williams grove

Since Herco has bought both parks do you think they will be expanded or kept as small family parks?

signatures suck!
I am not sure about how much room Dutch Wonderland has to expand on, but I am sure HERCO will expand where they can. I am sure that they may change some things too.

Williams Grove has alot of room to expand especially if they close the racetrack, but first they need to restore or replace alot of the current rides in the park. Id think that they'd remove a few. There has been alot of gossip about removing older rides from Hersheypark(Cyclops and Conestoga are the most talked about.) Williams Grove would be a good place to put those old rides to use.
The feeling right now is that they are going to leave Dutch Wonderland pretty much like it is. It's a nitch park catering to a specific market, one that doesn't greatly affect HP. Williams Grove, however, is a different story. This was Morgan Hugh's park. He at one time represented Anton Schwarzkopf in this country as well as a number of other European ride builders. There is a great deal of potential in this property. *** This post was edited by Dutchman on 6/7/2001. ***
I don't have any clue, since my first visits will be Sat. the 16th., but I feel that WG will definitely change.

I am hitting 6 parks in 3 days including Lakemont, DelGrosso's, Dutch, WG, Hershey, and Knoebels....all for the first time!!! I can't wait for CCI's first coaster!!

HERCO owns Williams Grove? I probably sound clueless, but when did that happen?

I agree with Dutchman, I really don't see any big changes at Dutch Wonderland coming as a result of this. The park is definitely a niche park, its pretty close to Hershey and caters to a completely different audience. If Dutch Wonderland started adding thrill rides, it would damage their family image as well as dillute Hershey's crowds.

As for Williams Grove, isn't that rather close to Knoebels? I don't really see how they will be able to compete with them, unless they make some drastic changes.
Williams Grove isn't close to Knoebels at all. Its about 35 minutes south of Hershey park. It was jsut recently announced in the Patriot News that HERCO is in the process of buying it.
Oops I was under the impression that it was slightly to the west of Knoebels...

Regardless, that would be great if HERCO bought the park! Think they would be interested in Whalom and Americana, too? *** This post was edited by Rob Ascough on 6/7/2001. ***
