According to a blog post that has since been removed on Universal Orlando's official blog, the resort will now offer a seasonal annual pass, with no parking and significant blockout dates. The post says that the Power Pass will no longer have summer blockout dates. Meanwhile, the Preferred and Premier passes will now entitle the passholders to early entry, one hour before the general public. The blog post did not include pricing information.
More options = good. I am all about the simple pass loaded with blockout dates, but the parking fee is what always gets me to jump to the next level. As a local, a last minute afternoon at the park is something that just sort of happens once in a while, and I dislike thinking twice about going because of the parking fee.
Yeah, the parking has always been weird. My bigger issue is that for all of my pre-residency time at the resort, it was always staying on property. Not having express is weird. Heck, parking in the garage is weird! Some day I look forward to having passes over there again.
