Yeah, I heard the news! I got on that ride once. It actually mad me sick.....!
I also didn't feel all that great after riding Evolution. I love flat rides. I love intensity. However, I didn't not enjoy my one and only ride on Evolution at SFGADv. Evolution was the first flat that I have ridden that I didn't want to ride again.
Perhaps I just rode it on a bad day or something?

Sure, the Fabbri model is much smaller and probably lacks the same intensity that the larger model reportedly has, but it does allow for the operator to do interesting things with the ride like:
a) Controlling when the gondolas are horizontal and when they are upright--gondolas are (I think) pnuematic piston controlled for position and are not affected by "centrifugal" force.
b) Controlling the rotational direction of the arm--it can rotate in both directions and be brought to a stop at seemingly any given point in the rotation.
Those Fabbri Evolution rides always seem very sturdy, safe, and reliable every time I've ridden one. Maybe it might also give an enjoyable Evolution ride for those who didn't necessarily enjoy the Nauta-Bussink ride?
(I never did actually ride the Nauta-Bussink one, though, just the Fabbri ones.)
