Ever Had to skip a park

Have you ever had to bypass a park while driving somewhere (like vacation, business travel, etc.) Tomorrow we are traveling and we are going right through Monticello in Indiana and I have never been to Indiana Beach, but we will not be able to stop. It pains me, anyone else have such an experience?

Even though PGA is only 45 minutes away from me i was passing it when i went to the great mall and it was in plain view. It was pure torture i tell ya! ;)

Yep, had a similiar experience. I was out in California attending my cousins wedding. We drove from Ontario down one of the main freeways and passed Scandia park. We were going to an exclusive golf course for my cousins wedding and while passing Scandia, I was just itching to get on the Scandia Screamer but couldnt due to being in a Tuxedo and the fact that my family wasnt about to stop for me to ride a coaster. Oh well!

One night at DCA I felt extremely sick, not because of the rides though. OK fine, Superstar Liimo did it. Anyway, I was sick but really wanted to go on California Screamin' but had to pass on it! That really upset me.

The Gurnee Mills is right across from Great America, and my family passes it all the time to get to my grandparents.

I go to the University of Central Florida. I drive by IOA quite a bit.
I will be driving by BGW later this summer to go to PKD.
I drove right by PKI in March. Of course, the park wasn't open yet, but I'd never even SEEN SOB yet, so I got pretty excited when I saw the mountain of wood by the side of the highway.

Every freakin' summer growing up my parents and I would make the drive from Texas up to visit my dad's side of the family in NE Indiana. We would pass by Six Flags St Louis both ways. Each time I just wanted to stop. To make things even worse, we travel with an RV and stopped more than once at Jellystone Park on the hill there by Six Flags. You can hear the train whistle and some of the guests screaming from that place.

My wife and I were going to stop there on our way back from Cedar Point a couple weeks ago, but she was sick and I had to pass it AGAIN without stopping. I've never been to that park. EVER! Someday, maybe.
When ever I go to L.A. I end up driving through Valencia. Where good SFMM sits with its 15 coasters calling my name.

Last year on our way back from Chicago we stopped up in Gurnee to go to the mall and if the weather was ok a few hours at SFGAm. The weather was crap all day (big crap) and we didn't want to be all soaked in the car all the way back to Ohio. Oh well, I am going in late August.

Yes. I hated it. We had a choice to go to the MIchigan State fair or CEdar POint. Of Course i said CP my sisters picked the fair. THEY WON of course when we got there most of the good rides were broken down and I was so mad at my parents.
man, you got screwed.
I have.I went to visit a friend in NC for a week and from her house we rode down to SC to visit someone else and along the major highway we were traveling i got a good view of Paramount Carouwinds(spelling?).I don't remember off hand what ride i saw but all i knew was it was dark in color and inverted.I asked my friend what park was that and she told me PC.I hinted for two days that maybe it would be a good place to take the kids but,i could not convince her to save my life :( .

Lets see...I've had to directly buypass SFEG, SFAW, SFSL, Frontier City, Castles & Coasters, Opryland (but after it got rid of the coasters, so it was alright), and IOA.

This summer I will pass through Des Moines(sp?) and miss a trip to Adventureland, even though we were almost going to go. I was in Florida a couple of years back, before IOA, but I missed a trip to Busch Gardens. I was about to pass by PKD this summer, but I convinced my parents to let us go there one day, so I got lucky there. Hypersonic, here I come!
for me it was Kennywood now i dident see it and im not sure how far we where from it but we passed the exdit to pittsburg p.a on the way to cedar point and i wanted to go but it was kenny wood or CP so i gusse you can pick my answer? (CP) oh yea and on my way to qweens n.y or long island i somtimes pass Astro land in Brooklyn nyc and see the Concey Island cyclone and wanan ride it so bad but my parents always say no since there is always traffic in that area after a sertan time and they dont wanna get stuck in it. *** This post was edited by CoasterCrzy on 6/8/2001. ***
