Euro-Fighter model (first coaster with 90+ drop)

Ohh thanks :) (guess the one at RCDB is the standard model?)

Anders - rcdb shows the model Gerstlauer had at IAAPA. The model was just to show they could build one, it did not represent an actual layout in production.

Strange how the supports on the straight part after the loop and the turn connect sometimes to the top and sometimes to the bottom of the rail. This looks almost like a 4D coaster, but the rest of the track looks so traditional.
This is going to be either a new thing or a weird thing.

It's a corkscrew from what i can see

ahh OK, they didn't have a pic of it last week though so I thought it was new :p

There was also another layout shot from a different angle in the article. When I get home I will scan and post it...

*EDIT*

Here it is... http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/cgodsey/vwp?.dir=/Misc.&.dnm=EuroFighter+Layout.jpg&.src=bc&.view=l&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/cgodsey/lst%3f%26.dir=/Misc.%26.src=bc%26.view=l

Yes, that is a stengel dive

They have added another helix at the end so it'll have a little bit more intense ending. http://www.parkfunworld.be/dossier/tech/11200034.jpg

Wicked! Thanks Olov .

I wonder if the Dinosaur Rampage (same type as Spider-Man) has been sold, it looks cool :)...

The model you all saw is heading for Bobbejaanland, Belgium. The final contracts have been signed some days ago.
The park manager will ride the Bon-Bon-Land version somewhere in 2003, and when he likes it, construction will start in Belgium.
This record won't stand for long if S&S can help it. Their new wild mouse completely outdoes this, but it will be interestiong to se how this will turn out.

-----------------
I talked with the Dippin' Dots guy and he assured me that Cedar Point was to get that 10-inversion terra-woodie-invert-stand-up because Magnum is sinking. The current construction is for the new super-Dippin' Dots stall he is to run.

How will the degrees of S&S's drop be determined? 180*?

Funny how the coaster gets more and more similar to SFH Goliath, apart from the inversion and the drop, of course.
Why do they put those helixes in... helixes of that strength always make me nauseous.
I'd prefer they put another stengel-dive in or put in on of these beautiful moments of airtime with a curve change like you can find on Expedition GeForce and SFH Goliath.
Also... I really wonder whether this ride's name (referring to a european built military plane) is really going to be a good thing now that we're on the brink of a new war in the middle east.

But well... it looks like a kick-butt ride anyway.

^^^^^^^^

Eurofighter is an obvious codename, it doesn't fit in with The Dogfart, The Dump, The Rat, Åge Seagullpoo etc.
