Essential coasters for the newbies

I see I have started a woodie rebellion. LOL After visiting Dorney today and riding everything (except Voodoo cuz it was closed due to electrical problems--effin Intamin), I honestly think I'm ready for some different coasters, including Millenium Force and some woodies. Thanx all for not giving up on this somewhat chicken newbie!

Essential wood: CI Cyclone, Tx Giant, Toro, Voyage, Phoenix, Tremors, and the Kennywoodies.

I cry because I have not ridden any of those :(

Although, if everything goes as planned, in two weeks I will be riding the Cyclone! WOO HOO

But, I will toss in another group of woodies that deserve their props. The Dells Woodies!
You have Avalanche and all of it's airtime-whory goodness that can be ridden over and over and over again without getting off. You have Hades, the predecessor to Voyage, with all of it's underground goodness. Then you have Cyclops with the last drop on the ride being the single biggest moment of ejector airtime EVER!

Certain victory.

Agree totally with Voyage. Went for HWN last year and that ride rocks! Night rides even crazier.

You should consider MF and Top Thrill. Top Thrill is a bang and done but after a few rides you can enjoy it. And MF is sort of the same but you get a longer ride with some air.

I too am afraid of heights, but love those rides.....

There are only 2 parks I would recommend you hitting and riding all the coasters there.

Holiday World
-Raven: Perfect coaster. Full of airtime, speed, and laterals, but still smooth and enjoyable. Also very rerideable!

-Legend: Fun drop & double helix

-Voyage: Do I really need to explain? It has pretty much everything a woodie can do; tons of airtime, 90* laterals, AND AN UNDERGROUND TRIPLE-DOWN!

Busch Gardens Africa

- BGA is home to some of the best B&Ms in the world, and has a classic Schwartzkopf to add to that!

Urgh, ALWAYS wanted to go to Busch Gardens Africa. I started riding coasters around the time Kumba was built, and I was fascinated by that monstrous loop at the start of it. I haven't made it there yet, but SOMEDAY it will happen. I'm STILL sulking that I didn't get to go there OR Islands of Adventure on my honeymoon in Orlando. Couldn't do Kraken either because when we went to SeaWorld, it was thundering and lightning and pouring rain all day. *pout* I think the thing to do is NOT take me anywhere where there are roller coasters because they will shut down, they will be rained out, or the park will remove them (Drachenfire at Busch Gardens Europe, Viper at Great Adventure--not that I missed that one at ALL). Hehehehe....although in the case of Sea World, I have a theory that if you are a guest of Disney, they secretly implant a microchip somewhere on your person, and when you go to another park, they create bad weather as punishment.

Only 28 more days til I get to ride Fahrenheit!

I think Goliath at Over Georgia is not to be missed as for massive airtime.

Get Ready. Get Set. Spinout! Six Flags America: The Park that is Full of Disappointments
