Escape from pompeii questions??

We are planning a trip to bgw next month.

My question is this.......is escape from pompeii themed like journey to atlantis at sea world?

Is the ride a dark ride/water ride, or just a water ride that goes through a building?

Also, do you get extreamly wet on this ride?

Different theming.

Pretty much a water ride through a building with a few effects.

It all depends on how heavy the front end of the boat is.

Enough "fragmented" answers...?

It's a shoot the chutes type ride with theming.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

What type of theming/ special efects does the ride have?

Is the theming as good as sea worlds atlantis ride?

I went there like 4-5 years ago and from what I remember there is stuff falling over, and flames shoot out at you, and they get pretty close. Thats' all I really remember.

Enjoy the rest of your day here at America's Rockin' Rollercoast, Cedar Point! www.thepointol.com

Obviously...its better than your average Shoot the chutes, but its still nothing to write home about. Some stuff falls down near the boat and at the boat, and there are some cool fire effects. The best part might be at the end of the build when the doors open up and there's this woooosh of air that hits you.
I rode it a few years back. My favorite aspect of the ride was how hot it got inside and then the refreshing water to cool you down. I also liked the flaming ceiling.

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.
Although short, EFP is by far my favorite water ride.

Don't be expecting a long ride as it's just about as long as an average shoot the chutes. Also, Don't sit in the front row. When I did some of the falling column effects happened behind me.

Sounds like a great ride.

Does anyone have some pics of the inside of the ride? I can only find pics of the outside.

Ps, thanks for the responses

There was a special with Alex Winters (?), one of those Bill & Ted guys and he was at BGW for E! (I believe) many years ago. He rode Drachen Fire and Escape from Pompeii, as well as their pirate ship. I still have it on tape somewhere. And since we have three VCR's in our house, maybe I could hook you up (for a fee of course):) Then again, you could just wait a month for your trip. As far as the question about how wet you get, well it varies. On one trip I didn't get that wet. But, 2Hostyl and I rode it (telling him the same thing), and we got soaked. We were so wet that we decided to ride Roman Rapids next.
