So they are planning on having it ready by the 28th? Interesting.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

It sounds great, but I'm not digging the "if finished" line about The Flying Turns. I know it's uncharted territory, but they've spent an awful lot of time working on it. I would hope that they could have a finished product by the end of April.

I would be shocked if it is finished by opening day. I'll be there if it is, but I doubt it will.

I hate *everyone* that lives closer to Knoebels than I do...

I mean, I like yous and all (some more than others, hehe), but that doesn't make me any less jealous... I :)

Yeah, I wouldn't count on KFT being ready by then. I'm not planning a visit until I know it's ready to go.

I might check this out. I live 15 minutes away and haven't been there since 2005. I feel like I've sinned or something.

Wow. You have no right to live so close and be a member of a coaster enthusiast community. lol :)

I live in the same little town as Camden Crazy (Bloomsburg), and I usually only go to Knoebels once or twice a year. This event sounds enjoyable, even if FT isn't done. Based on the webcam photos, they still have a lot of work to do including the station, first lift, and end/brake section into the station. But if anyone can get it done, it's them!

I'll probably be there. I'm going through coaster-withdrawl; I haven't ridden anything since Halloweekends at Cedar Point. I need some Phoenix air and Twister G's!

With flyers just 15 minutes away, I'd never stay home on the weekends. :)

Actually, I think if I were 15 minutes from Knobels, I'd never be home during the weeknights.
If it is ready, I predict it will be similar to the situation Mr. Twister was in a few years ago on its opening day... if you were there, you'd remember how the station wasn't finished, the queue wasn't finished, and they wern't even done attaching the support wires. However, it was done enough to ride and man what a ride it was. They actually made people go up the exit ramp and only allowed enough people in the station at a time to fill a train.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

wow! d00dz, i live forty-five minutes away, and I got to knoebels about 8 times a year. :P I can't even drive, and i go more lol. That(to me) is odd, if i lived 15 minutes away and could drive, i'd go atleast twice a month.

Now for my opinion on this! I think that Knobels does have the possibility of having it open by opening day, but there is still a chance it will not be open by then. Whatever happens, happens. I'd be happy even if it opens in the end of July! I just want this ride to be open! :]

its all downhill from here.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I don't think there is any way in hell that the Flying Turns will be ready by opening day. I'm thinking more along the lines of late June or early July.
Given Knoebels history, I'd say it opens when it opens.

Another great thing about a pay as you go park, there's no pressure to have every ride operating by opening day since your gate price has already been set. I wonder if there'll be any effect on POP prices before/after Flying Turns opens. Honestly, I can't remember how it was the year Twister opened.

And a special send out to Mr. gator-hater. :)

Acoustic Viscosity's avatar
I heard Twister wasn't part of the POP its first year and that KFT will likely be the same.

Long live the Big Bad Wolf

I wasn't riding when Twister opened, but the 2007 price list has already been compiled, and the POP section of the list only says, as it did last year, "Pool, Haunted Mansion, Skyride not included in any pay-one-price plans."
