Epilogue - my trip to Vegas (very happy ending)

A lot of you read my incredibly long Vegas TR posted about a month ago. So you heard about the infuriating delays my wife and I endured on the flight from Columbus to Vegas.

Welp... all's well that ends well. I wrote a letter to America West, and they sent me $300 in flight coupons. Yes, $300. That is about $75 more than two tickets for the one-way flight cost me in the first place.

Kudos to AW's customer service department -- they just won back a customer.

Airlines will go to great lengths to right their wrongs. When some of our luggage was misplaced in Frankfurt on a connecter flight (Lufthansa) they gave our family free round trip tickets to one of their destinations, and compensated us fully for our luggage. A few months after the fact, our luggage was returned.

$300 is a cheap way for them to retain a customer -- not to mention the customer's friends who would be (and were) influenced by the negative publicity
