Following the announcement that Soarin' at Epcot would be upgraded with new projection systems and an increase in capacity from two to three theaters, the resort announced the attraction will close January 4 and reopen in the summer of 2016.

I second that. If you want to get some riding in at Magic Kingdom without FP+, getting to the park near opening time on an event night is a great way to do it. Event guests who are doing a WDW vacation will start in another park, and those not doing the event will save their MK day for a non-event night to get more hours.
We went to the Halloween party on Friday night, which had sold out well in advance. The specialty character meet and greets had obscene waits, but we walked onto rides that normally have a substantial wait time, including all of the Mountains. The never-under-an-hour Peter Pan had a 35 minute wait, and Seven Dwarfs was 40. Heck, even Astro Oribitor wasn't filling up the elevators.
