Disney World fans and officials marked the 30th birthday of Epcot with low-key celebrations at the theme park on Monday. Festivities included an afternoon ceremony at the America Gardens Theater, sessions on Epcot's history and queues for Epcot fans to pick up limited-edition merchandise.

Man this makes me feel old! Remember going with the family shortly after it opened. Also remember waiting a long time for Spaceship Earth. At the part where the ride cars turn backwards and go downhill, there were staff members physically turning the cars. Guess there was some glitch in the omnimover system at the time.
The 30th tag on the end of Illuminations was phenomenal! It was interesting seeing the line for the Limited edition merchandise reaching from MouseGears almost to the World Showcase. I ended up getting some of the goods but wasn't willing to shell out $125 for the limited edition pin.
