End of season- GL vs. CP??

Just wondering if any other Ohio locals are having this issue- Cedar Point and Geauga Lake both have the same closing day this year.
Which park are you going to visit?

Last year we were lucky enough to get the last 3 rides of the season on Villan, the ride op was really cool! Was anyone else there?

We're probably definitely going to CP, but it was nice to be able to close down BOTH parks.

I won't have much of a choice. I'll probably have to work at GL that day. I am still trying to figure out my unload spiel for the last ride of the year, if I close one of my coasters.

It is going to be sad. Working at the park was loads of fun, and I don't yet know if I am coming back.

Back on topic, I would suggest CP unless you want to visit me at GL! Even though I work at GL, I have become very attached to the Point, and if I was even thinking of asking for closing day off to go to CP myself, though I think GL needs me.

if you don't like crowds, geauga lake.
if you don't mind crowds and want to ride higher and faster coasters, CP...
granted, i've been to GL the past 4 years about 50 times. CP only 1 (last sunday.)
on Sundays in oct, CP is not that crowded.
when we left the park Sunday at about 5pm, the parking lot wasn't even 1/2 full...
CP is nicer and has more to do. WAlking thru FRontier town in the fall w/leaves changing color was beautiful!

Why not do both?;)
good idea Tekno! I was actually thinking about hitting GL next weekend to see the diff after one season under CF.

It is possible to do both. Geauga Lake is never that busy and it is possible to open GL on Sunday ride every thing and be to CP between 3 & 4. Or you can spend one day at CP and one at GL. Close both Cedar Fair parks on their closing weekend. I know that I plan on being at CP closing day. I may even make a jaunt to GL Saturday. *** Edited 10/12/2004 8:13:31 PM UTC by Trick Track***
Not to mention GL closes 2 hrs. later than CP this year. So if you time it right, you can go to CP, drive from CP to GL and still have about 1hr. to ride coasters at GL. l ;)

Yeah, I've been thinking about doing both, I am just contemplating which park to close down. Its so great to be one of the last people in the park. We'll probably end up at CP Sunday though!
Not much to decide, since I already have reservations for the weekend at CP's Hotel Breakers.
Cedar Point is the one I'm planning to close down on Sunday and closing the 2004 season at PKI the following Sunday. I don't have a Geauga Lake pass and I've already been there a couple hours this year and that was more than enough. More Villain rides would be nice any time though. I'll probably do the fairly cheap Geauga Lake add-on for 2005. The CF pass alone will be worth it with a possible visit to Solace at Knott's, plus Dorney Park and Valleyfair!, and multiple visits to CP.
