Hey has anyone heard anything about the new coasters at EV? I heard one is going to be wood and the other steel. One report says the woodie will be 75ft tall, and another report says that it will be 120ft tall. Then there are those other reports that say that the new coasters are merely a rumor. Could someone clear up the subject for me.
Rumors are rumors are rumors are rumors. Nobody really knows yet except SF, and they aren't leaking anything. The skinny up here has been a CCI and a Beemer, but I can only pray...:)

Is the mouse coaster in operation yet?I have heard that the previous owner of this park had the permits to build the wood and steel coasters in hand, then Six Flags at that point bought them out.
With any luck, they may may have these coasters in place by 2003 or 2004.It will be great to have a park with some world class coasters within a few hours of my home.At this point, all we PNW coaster enthusiasts have is the Vancouver PNE/Playland and Silverwood.(and the Puyallup fair when it is open in September)The rest the parks in this region tend to have small carnival type coasters. While the PNE and Silverwood are great parks, they are both a days drive from my home.(6 & 8 hours, respectively)

I can fix anything.....where is the duct tape?
I was just there last week. I heard rumors as well, and wanted to see what SF had done with the park so far. One report said there were stakes in the ground along the back end of the park that said "Coaster Limits" on them. The report, from a site called "Northwest Theme Park Guide"(which is not the address), went on to say a member of park management indicated a big coaster coming. I had to see for myself. I went Monday, June 10th, and it was relatively slow, because school wasn't out yet, excepting the senior classes, of course.
Well, as it turns out, the report is correct! There are indeed stakes in the ground with the words coaster limits on them in the back of the park. Later in the day, as I was on the new Dodge 'Ems (bumper cars), I noticed what I assumed to be a member of management observing the ride, talking with what seemed to be a contractor, and then heading further up the way in the woods at the back end. When the cars stopped, we were offered another ride sinse no one else was in line. I opted out of the offer to chase down the gentlemen I saw. When I caught up with them, they were looking at plans(I assumed) in their hands, and pointing in the direction of the stakes. I had to know, so I asked the man with the WW/EV shirt if he could tell me the meaning of the stakes. He answered " I can but I can't", as he rolled the sheets up out of my view. He said all he could say was a big, very big, ride was planned for the back area. He stopped short of saying it was a rollercoaster, but, c'mon, the stakes tell the truth. When I pried for the year it could be expected, he mentioned the proposal has been sent in, and appeared as if it will be next year, should all go well. I can't stress enough the tone of voice he used when he said big; he meant it. He then sincerely apologized he couldn't say more, and hoped I understood. He was genuinely friendly and seemed happy to talk with my guest and I.
The rumor is a wooden record-breaker of some sorts. I suppose that could be something as trivial as longest covered tunnel, or something with bite. Knowing SOB's stats, I would not even entertain the tallest; the back of the park is too close to housing developments. The fastest? Sorry again. What does fit is the longest. Why? Because the report, repeated by a few ride-ops that day, was that the coaster is to stretch the back length of the park, going all the way from the NE boundary to the SE boundary. On my visit, I noticed two things: 1. There is indeed room for such a coaster in the back, undeveloped part of the park, and 2. they have moved a lot, and I do mean A Lot, of land. Sure, it could be for parking, but they already are building additional parking on the previously undeveloped land in the SW corner of the park.
However, personally, while I do suspect a coaster for obvious reasons, I'm dubious about a record breaker. I heard no mention of any records being broken by either management or the ops.
At any rate, the new rollercoaster, Klondike Gold Rusher, is a Zamperla Zig Zag coaster. A fun, swift mad mouse that's a nice addition.

I doubt I could make the trip though I'd like to. I've been wanting to go to Silverwood for a while as well, mostly because sad enough, I have never been on a wood rollercoaster.
So we know that they're most likely building a woody. But do ya think that the new steel tracked coaster is still go. I sure hope that they don't consider The Klondike Gold Rusher to be our new major steel rollercoaster, that would be pathetic. I did hear a rumor about the future of the parking lots though. Apparently what they're thinking of doing is making a parking lot across I-5 and having people walk across a bridge to get to the park, kind of like the GNW theme park plans. That would leave a whole lot of room for the park to expand on.

Definetly. I think that it is possible that they could fit both major coasters. If/when these new coasters are added this could go under the name change to Six Flags over Washington or Six Flags Seattle. I think that over the next years many of the current rides will be leaving because they are too outdated. Not all new rides have to necessarily be rollercoasters, just something that pulls the whole look together. One thing that I think is definetely needed from Six Flags is theming. Big Sky Territory has lots of theming and I hope to see even more in the new Northwest Territory area once LJF is finished. The Konga River at Wild Waves has lava rocks for theming, nothing else. Once all these transformations occur, it will be considered a major park.
As for two major coasters, no problem. Move the employee parking from it's current location and put in an eye catching coaster. There are other options as well. I believe there will also be room for a third, but something compact like a Volare`, or a Boomerang even.
Remember, SF flagged MW with Kong, a boomerang, and Roar (for major coasters). Granted, the park has numerous animal attractions in it's favor, but if a 55 acre Elitch Gardens can be flagged, our 70 acre park can't be far behind

Actually Ronald, it's in Federal Way, which is where I live. Federal Way and Tacoma are actually far apart.
I was thinking, do you think they will eventually get rid of The Wild Thing? It's very outdated. In that small space you could probably fit a Deja Vu there, a much better coaster.

Would you really want a Delay Ja Vu as your park's only major coaster? Enchanted Village would probably go out of buisness if they're only major coaster was known to be closed or broken down 90% of the time.
