Element collisions!

Just thought you might be interested in seeing this. I just made a new coaster, called Stingray. It's a standard sit-down B&M looper with 7 inversions. Anyway, I put a barrel roll and a hill through a cobra roll...makes for some major steel jammed in together. Here's a pic of the area, with a train in the cobra roll, a train in the barrel roll and a train on the hill. Pretty cool. http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/jcs33/3trainelement.jpg
It's about 150K, so it may take a while to load if you don't have a speedy connection.

I agree, but that is a nice coaster! I really like how you built it with that hill and the barrel roll through the cobra roll!:)

Here's a pic of the full layout with the ratings. It's not one of my better designs, with the exception of that section. It's only 7.49 excitement, but there's no theming on it. BTW the trim on the top of the hill doesn't catch. I turned it off after the ratings were done...the Intensity hits 10.5 without it, and I didn't feel like reprofiling the hill. It starts with a slow lift hill that launches the final 10 feet or so into that twist/loop element, then loop, corkscrew, cobra roll, twist, corkscrew with some hills and helices thrown in for fun.

In case you noticed these pics show 4 trains on the course. This is just image fakery to get the trains in the elements at the right time. I just took screenshots of a train in the barrel roll, then a shot of one in the cobra roll and then merged them...looks cooler that way, but in reality, those elements are far to close to each other to run the trains naturally so they'll be there, and still have it be safe. This park is interesting...the woodie you can see in the left edge of the image is 8,550 feet long!

You build it, I'll ride it...eventually
Cool...what are you planning on majoring in? email me if you have any questions about Cornell. This is my last semester here! :)

I have a invert with an interlocking Cobra Roll, Loop, and Barrel Roll.

Do you have 4 trains on that? And if so how?

Don't mess with the X in 01
I noticed that the flying coaster seems to be able to provide what looks like some close calls because of the track being able to be upside down or rightside up.

Look at my second post...it's the fifth post in the thread. Look at the second big paragraph.

Jman
how did you get the trains to run so close together?
Again, refer to the post above yours, which refers to an earlier post of mine...they're merged images...I took screenshots of a train in the cobra roll, then a screenshot of a train in the barrel roll, then a screenshot of a train on the hill, and I merged the 3 images to make it appear as if they hit those elements at the same time.

Can you explain it one more time? My cat still wants to know how you got them running so close together!

:)
