Electric Bill

I have always wondered how much electricity a park consumes. One of the coaster shows said that the Hulk uses 8 Megawatts when it launches. Thats almost 11,000 HP. I know CP ran a new 35,000 volt line just to run the Wicked Twister. How many Megawatt-hours does a big park use in a month?

I know this has been brought up in a few posts before. try using the search feature if no one answers...
just an estimate...alot

Knoebels doesn't have that problem... they just make Kozmo run faster on his little treadmill to make things run.

I usually do not expect a very objective opinion if a coaster or park is part of the "user name"

I remember a coaster show saying that S:UE could power 40 homes with each launch.

Six Flags, the only chain of parks that can manage to have stacking with a one train operation.

Well I hope SFMM, Knotts, Disneyland, PGA, and SFMW all stop their water rides and LIM rides during Stage power outages. I mean Schools are losing their electricity and children can't learn.
Wait, not DL, they have the Anahiem grid, not CA's grid.
I'm supprised some parks don't generate their own electricity.. Doesn't Cedar Point do this or something?

40 homes for how long?

And do you mean trailers or mansions? LOL. I think Disney has everyone beat, at least during the Electrical Parade. :) Good one SLFAKE!

Disneyland runs off its city's very own power system. they'll never geta rolling blackout,
It was said that Cedar Points water rides use more electricity then the rest of the park combined. Don't know if this is still true with WT.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

sfft_freak: Astroland at Coney Island generates their own electricity. Three diesel generators housed inside trailers. I asked Steve Urbanowicz about this and he said it was still cheaper than what Con Ed would charge them. The 5 boroughs of New York City have the highest electric rates in the U.S.
