Elaborate Coasters

I'm still a newbie to the game( 1 month). I've been checking out the various web sites and have seen some pretty wild coasters. But my question is this, do most of you all make your "great" coasters in the scenarios or in these imfamous "trainers" I've heard so much about. It seems that I an always running into space issues, so my coasters end up in the 2-4 inversion, 2000-3000ft long, 100ft high, 6-7.5 excitement range. Any tips on increasing these?
Thanking you in advance,
JCSN
There are a couple of different ways to increase your excitement. Firstly, themeing is very important. Whether it be trees near the tracks, walkways over/under the ride, ponds, or hills, all of these things will increase your excitement. Secondly, keep an eye on your intensity. As it raises, your excitement goes down. Be wary of your vertical G's. Finally, intertwine your rides. I had a woodie with a 6.75 excitement that jumped to over 8 after my floorless started zooming through. This also helps the excitement on the other rides too.
I personally always use a trainer. I hate being confined within the limitations of the scenarios. Search around, grab the Drexler Patch, Techno's trainer, and a megapark save. Use these to work on your design skills and then try to tackle the scenarios if you still want to.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask. :-)

I dont use the trainer to make coasters that I save in my tracks folder. Instead, I got the Drexler Patch so I could get a flat mega park and money, so I just build them and save them there. I build good coasters when I'm in the creative and patient mood.

I have made Mega Park Flat before and its not all that. I kept it the way it was and basically edited it. Like explaned the Desert Area and put up water rides (Oasis theme). I kept the Mine Theme for a while and put a mine Coaster there but then I expanded it and put it more into the ground and put Marsian ground down. It is now Planet X with a sit down B&M coaster, a Looper, a Space Spiral kinda ride (for all u CP people). Other themes on mine is Deep Space 9, Blair Witch Project and a Mountain in the back named "Mt. Everlast. So I would suggest you use the park and make it how you want it. Make you rides conform to the park. It takes a long time but I am telling you it is worth it

The only "cheat" I've used is the Drexler patch, again so I can do the flat mega park scenario that genius is talking about. However, I have found that all of my best rides were built in the scenarios. The unique land features force you to be creative.

I enjoy using trainers on scenario land, but then I just make it a Mega Park by owning all the land and bumping the money up. That way I get tons of land, cool land features, and it allows for really interesting coaster building and park building. I enjoy the game more for building excellent parks, rather than the challenge of beating a scenario. Try using the Dam scenario in CF and build a Mega park with it...it's fun!

awwwww come one guys, cheaters always win :)
no really, i have only used the trainer in scenarios that are really boring. i also use the patch to just create or recreate coasters. i think that is almost more fun.

I am close to finishing a MegaPark that I'm really proud of. The dueling loopers, the compact twister, the out-and-back hyper, the huge woodie, the inverted terrain and giant suspended coasters... it really is a work of art.

The dueling/racing loopers both have very high excitement, and I wish I could ride them in real life!

I have like 3-4 dueling floorless coasters with 8 or 9 inversions each. They have very high excitement and intensity. I'm very proud of them.
Yeah, my current mega park is awesome too. I have a 225 ft tall hyper with 15 airtime laden hills, dueling floorlesses with 5 inversions each and both with an excitement of over 9.5, a great standup with 6 inversions, a flying coaster with 7 inversions, an 8 inversion inverted, two woodies (one with a loop), a heartline, and I think that's it. Cool park, and all centered on a single path that goes around a lake...the coasters all have the stations on the main path and then use the rest of the land as their terrain. Only the 2 woodies, and the heartline can fully be seen while just walking around the park. ;)

My best park doesn't take place in Mega Park. Within half of the park, there is over 22 coasters, with about another batvh of 8 I am almost ready to open. I still have a whole other half I could expand on. Right now, I am gonna start doing some recreations, and have some crazy coasters. After building 22 intertwining coasters, I think I can goof around.

DOWN WITH TRIM BRAKES!
I too have used the Drexler to create parks using flat land and $100,000,000. I completed a park a couple months ago that turned out awesome! It is set on the ocean, with a boardwalk, a coaster on a pier, and an intercoastal waterway. None of the coasters are that elaborate, but there are a few I'm quite proud of (follow my link to some screenshots)

Right now I have one going that is formed to look like downtown Pittsburgh and the confluence of the 3 rivers. I have an awesome woodie that is positioned on the slopes of Mt. Washington, and inverted coaster that snakes it's way through the downtown skyscrapers. (Will post screenshots this weekend.) I tend to have a difficult time naming them, though!

I have a mega park with 39 coasters. About 30 are large, 5 are medium, and 4 are smaller.
you should post it somewhere. Hey that would be another cool thing to have on this site a place for RTC things
i am putting finishing touches on my current mega park, (ready for submission to danimation) Busch Gardens Badlands. 14 coasters(i am pretty sure) and awesome theming.

I built a Twister steel with a 10.59 excitement rating with no inversions. It's 8000ft.+ long. I used the mega park with all flat land. It's in the very corner of the park so it has tons of crossovers and takes up little space. E mail me and I'll send you the park. Just check my info for my E mail addy.

That's nothing!
I built a Steel Twister without inversions that's 12000ft.+, 100 mph, and excitement of 11.29, intensity of 9.94, and nausea is 5 something
Most of it has very little theming, except for the station
