At least one response has been promised by Friday’s 4 p.m. deadline for potential operators of the abandoned Kentucky Kingdom amusement park to respond to the state’s request for proposals. A group led by Louisville investor Ed Hart — who operated Kentucky Kingdom for nearly a decade up through the 1990s before he sold it to Six Flags for about $80 million — will submit a proposal. But any other responses may remain unknown.

Here is another article. It's lengthy, but a good read. It was interesting to see the seemingly double standards the State Fair Board has. It's a good in depth break down of everything that has gone on since Six Flags left and Ed Hart began submitting proposals.

The article linked by Jason is really eye opening. It seems that there are personal agendas making these roadblocks insurmountable, when the process should have been completed by now.

It really is extraordinary. Hart has been somewhat arrogant at times, particularly when talking about the HW folks, but it seems clear that the governor and fair board simply don't want him there. That HW walked away is also very telling.
