Eastern Penn & N.E. NY Trip Help

Im still debating whether or not to do Delgrossos. I have been there in the past, but have not ridden the Mouse or the wacky worm yet. There was a rumor that Degrossos wanted to build a nice wood coaster, but I never heard much on it.

Lakemont has a R-A-D special of $4.00 July 1-4. I have been there three times, but the wife hasen't. Also, we're already in that general area, you know. Would be a shame to skip it.

I have Thursday through Tuesday off from work, so I want to take advantage of that, but I thought of getting back to Ohio Monday night to enjoy a nice quiet day off from everything on Tuesday. (I love having FOUR WEEKS of Vacation)

RGB says: How much time are you actually allowing to spend in a park?
Well, Wonderland would be a 2/3 day, Sesame would be an hour with the shopping thing, MFI would be a few hours at most, with the 6 hour trip to Dorney from Niagara, with stops along the way, Im trying to spend a little time here and a little there. In the past, I have scheaduled parks down to the tee, but I usally have to skip one or two or we are so tired, and that takes a toll on us.. and the wife gets grouchy.

But again, I have been to many of these places in the past, so I don't need to ride every single thing, but I would like more time at Dorney this trip, thats why it could be either an evening visit or morning visit.

We can always add a day of parks (our window is the 4th) if we really need to.

BTW......Does anyone really know if Clementons Jack Rabbit will ever re-open? Ya Think it's a lost cause? I know J2 uses JR's train. Those trains run over $200k

JackRabbit, due to being SBNO for an entire season, would have to clear the same hurdles as NEW construction. The coaster was built before concrete footers were used... :-/

Approximate cost to fix JR is likely greater than tearing down and building new, so... :(

J2, aka Tsunami, is an absolute BEAST....but maintenance will *always* be an issue, it's THAT powerful....and mid-ride helices, well, you've heard my rants on those... ;)

If you just want to stop at DelGrossos to do the coasters, rest assured that this is easy to do. DG continues to have free admission and parking. A ride on the mouse is $2 and the Wacky Worm is $1 if you don't want to buy a ride all day wristband.

rollergator: Since Clemantons Jack Rabbit has in fact been closed since late 2002 and the train is currently running on Avelanche, do you think that it's a matter of time before the ride gets demolished.

Why did the park really close it in the first place?

As for Martins Fantasy Island, is there an ACE Discount still?

Ok, did I read that right? You are going to Sesame Place to go shopping???? Heck, your going to spend a boatload just to get into the park!!! :)

Well kids, I just got back from my trip. It was quite successful despite the heat and crowds, but I was able to work around that stuff. The biggest dissappointment was that we didn't get to spend time in downtown Philly.... due to a massive event going on and construction throughout.

Never hit Bushkill.. with so much of their stuff still under construction and add to that another small flood, I decided to skip out on it. We never made it to Clementon, either. We skipped Lake mont as well.. but I have been there and the deal they had going on this weekend would have made it too busy.

Sesame Place was a complete success. We did the "shopping pass" and were in and out in 38 minutes. Nice to see 2 two trains on that Vapor Trail. W got on tht thing in about 8 minutes. The place was nuts and totally hot. I took about a dozen picts and we were out. All it cost us was $10 for parking.

I'll write more another day, we just got home, Im tired.
