Ok, this is truly exciting news. Maybe you've heard about plans for Earth Quest Adventures, a resort due to open in New Caney (25 miles north of Houston) in 2013. I hadn't until recently and I couldn't wait to find out more. Not only is it going to be an amazingly cool theme park, which will be the ONLY Eco Green theme park in the world, but the three-phase development plans include so much more.

My one day at Astroworld is still the worst day I spent at an amusement park. The place smelled, looked like it was falling apart, the rides were all old, most of them were so old they were either uncomfortable or boring and Taz's Texas Tornado wasnt even open the whole day due to "staffing issues" even though the park had it marketed as their signature attraction.

That was the park that taught me a very valuable lesson, I am not a only do coasters and go anywhere for credits guy, thats the day I realized that I only really had fun at well built, well run all around parks.

Astrworld was a huge mistake.

I wouldn't say everything the old management did in their last 2 years was a mistake. Looney Toons National park at TGE, Pandemonium at SFNE. but they did make a lot of bad moves before that. hard to say a lot of problem spots were getting fixed at least that was the case at SFNE and TGE. and his last hear in was the best year money and attendance the company has seen in a decade.

Will be interesting to see this project get off the ground. I just hope it can stay that way. I think the project in a whole especially teh first stage is a bit too large. even for the local population.

Those of you who know me (well, most everybody here) recognizes me as a crazed environmentalist - we used to be called tree huggers when there were still old-growth forests around.

Wouldn't you know it, just the other day one of my "enviro-forums" started lighting up with news of the "World's First Eco-Amusement Park". My worlds are colliding, Jerry! ;)

I think of you more as a 'charm enthusiast'. ;)

The article and the links contain all the buzzwords about biospheres, etc., but what exactly is going to be in this park? That is, other than the 12-acre waterpark that is going to contain "frozen" components (in Houston in July and August?). And how much is it going to cost?

The whole website seems to be heavy on emotional and intellectual concepts, and extremely light on any concrete details.
