E! Entertainment calls ZOOMbabwe "Hot"

Along with "Men in Black 2" and Cartier watches, E! Entertainment Television names the new ZOOMbabwe at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari one of the hottest crazes for the summer of 2002.

The new television special "Hollywood Heatwave," described as "a guide to what’s sizzlin' in summer entertainment," will include movies, music and fashion, plus this season’s top new rides at the nation's theme and amusement parks.

ZOOMbabwe, which opens to the public on May 18, is the world’s largest enclosed water slide. Called a "purple monster" by the New York Post, ZOOMbabwe soars ten stories high. Rafts carrying up to five family members careen wildly through the water ride in total darkness.

"ZOOMbabwe is a family thrill ride and we're a family theme park," says Will Koch, president of Holiday World & Splashin' Safari. "But it sure is fun to have Hollywood call us 'hot.'"

Hollywood Heatwave premieres on E! Entertainment Television this Friday, May 17, at 10 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. CT. The E! Entertainment network is available to more than 66 million cable and direct-satellite subscribers in the U.S.

That is an awsome slide.
Oh great. Now Holiday World is going to become the next "in" Hollywood destination. Pretty soon People magazine will be snapping shots of Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz bumping each other in buffalo-shaped bumper cars. ;)

P.S. If the "Wild On" crew does manage to get to HW, I want to make sure and do those "bumper cars" with Brooke Burke....just don't tell Jill....;)

It's great that HW is getting some national televised publicity. Yeah Paula, thats right.. I will be visiting the park soon..hehehe

If CP can get their first launch, first shuttle, and first backwards-traveling coaster all in one (WT), there's no reason to say this isn't the "world's tallest dark ride"....way to go, Paula!

Yeah, I guess that would qualify it as a dark ride, but you cant usually say dark ride without the words Sally in there somewhere..hehehe The Great American Dark Ride company :)

Ahhhhhh....15 days until my head gets chopped off by the horseman!!!!!

Sorry Paula but you don't get off that easy. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a nice, multi-level Sally dark ride on that grassy knoll between Raven and Legend's helix by the high dive arena.

Yeah, a dark ride is definitely something that HW is in need of.. a nice family attraction to add to its spectacular ride collection. There are some awesome themes in that park they could go with.. a haunted house themed one or even a santa claus themed one.. Man, my head is racing with ideas here..hehehe

Chris - I don't think HW *needs* a dark ride, but it would be cool if that had one. How about this: they could theme it to the coaster news group rec.roller-coaster and riders could shoot trolls! LOL!
